------=_NextPart_0001_3C005F5F Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit If you read through the description, it's pretty accurate - you're probably trying to play an MPEG-2 file, but Microsoft doesn't furnish an MPEG-2 decoder. You'll have to get that codec elsewhere. Most DVD drives come with MPEG-2 software, which makes this type of file compatible with Windows Media Player. -------------------- From: "Naklicki" <mnaklicki (~=~) hotmail.com> Subject: Error ID = 0xC00D1199, Condition ID = 0x00000000 Date: Wed, 6 Aug 2003 14:12:41 -0700 I am getting this error message when I try to open up any music file with Windows Media Player 9 for Windows ME, even though the files are supported by the player. What can I do? 0xC00D1199: Cannot play the file Windows Media Player cannot play the file. You may encounter this error message for one of the following reasons: The file type is not supported by the Player. The following table lists the file types supported by the Player. If the file type you are trying to play is included in this table, then the file may have been encoded by using a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. If this is the case, Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file type is supported by the Player, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the Player. The file type is supported, but you are trying to play it in a way that is not supported by the Player. For example, you may have attempted to drag a DVD file with a .vob extension from a DVD to the Windows Media Player icon. Or you may have attempted to open a .vob file by clicking Open on the File menu. You are trying to play one part of a multipart file. I am not trying to play a MPEG-2 file. This problem has nothing to do with DVD's. I cannot play music that I have copied from CD (wma files) or music downloaded (mp3 files). All was fine until the other day. >-----Original Message----- >If you read through the description, it's pretty accurate - you're probably trying to play an MPEG-2 file, but Microsoft >doesn't furnish an MPEG-2 decoder. Where did you get the file from? What's the URL, if any? -- (speaking for myself and doing this in my free time) See http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. Hi, Make sure you have the correct audio device selected under WMP's Tools>>Options>>Devices>>Speakers>>Properties. If that doesn't help see if http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html#midi does. -- Chris Lanier "bryan" <guitargodofshred (~=~) yahoo.com> wrote in message news:360001c3e20c$919a4f80$a501280a (~=~) phx.gbl... > since downloading the new media player none of my midi > files will open and play all I get it this error message. . |
